The benefits of cloud transformation and app modernization initiatives are clear for large, mature organizations: cost savings, flexible software development, faster app release cycles, business agility and innovation. Application security postures are evolving to include shift-left patterns during development in addition to production-specific security requirements that are unique to cloud environments. This impacts customers who are unclear or unprepared for the separation of concerns between development and production and who are uncertain how to prepare for a changing threat landscape.

During this online roundtable, security experts from GitLab and Google Cloud will discuss these security challenges and how to address them to protect application code, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), open source components, APIs and other potential cloud security vulnerabilities.

By attending you will learn about:

  • The DevSecOps mindset shift that better prepares organizations as they embrace multi-cloud, IaC, cloud-native app development and other competitive practices
  • How a shared security responsibility model in DevSecOps works
  • DevOps practices and tools for automation and cross-team collaboration that infuse security into development, operations and applications
  • Key business decisions GitLab made when implementing security as a tenancy of Google Cloud Platform as well as considerations, best practices and lessons learned
  • Low-hanging fruit that can reduce security risk while streamlining the software life cycle for those looking to deploy on secure cloud infrastructure

What You’ll Learn in This Webinar

You’ve probably written a hundred abstracts in your day, but have you come up with a template that really seems to resonate? Go back through your past webinar inventory and see what events produced the most registrants. Sure – this will vary by topic but what got their attention initially was the description you wrote.

Paint a mental image of the benefits of attending your webinar. Often times this can be summarized in the title of your event. Your prospects may not even make it to the body of the message, so get your point across immediately.  Capture their attention, pique their interest, and push them towards the desired action (i.e. signing up for your event). You have to make them focus and you have to do it fast. Using an active voice and bullet points is great way to do this.

Always add key takeaways. Something like this....In this session, you’ll learn about:

  • You know you’ve cringed at misspellings and improper grammar before, so don’t get caught making the same mistake.
  • Get a second or even third set of eyes to review your work.
  • It reflects on your professionalism even if it has nothing to do with your event.
